Here is a picture of the trail up there.
It was VERY steep. It was VERY dangerous.
More of the dangerous trail. These pictures do not convey exactly how steep and how narrow the trail actually was. There were areas in which I was on a ledge no more than 3 feet wide. On one side was a shear rock wall, and on the other side was a 1000 foot drop. I was buoyed by the fact that there seemed to be a lot of other tourists crazy enough to try to climb up there was well.
Here is a picture of some of the ruins at the top of Huanu Picchu. I don't know what this city was used for, but they had a lot of terraced farming areas.
