This is a long distance picture of the Gate of the Sun. You can't really see it, but it located in that little cleft between mountains at the far left of the picture. You access it by following the Inca Trail that goes along the side of the mountain in the middle of the picture (which is Machu Picchu by the way).
Here is a picture of the trail. See, it is not that dangerous. Of course, there is no guardrail and it is a 1000 foot drop, so be careful. Rain makes this walk more fun, so remember your hiking boots!

After about 40 minutes I reached the gate.
Well, here it is. Not too impressive huh? It was mainly a check point and toll booth on the way to Machu Picchu. It was worth the trip though. Some of the best views of Machu Picchu and the mountains can be had along the trail. There seem to be a lot of mosquitoes around here though. Bring some quinine!
